The 2012 Silver Alto Clef Award has been awarded to Michael Tree, and will be presented to him at the XL Congress in Rochester, New York at Eastman
The Thirteenth Primrose International Viola Competition and Festival will be held May 30-June 5, 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. Click here for details.

Teemu Kupiainen, member of the Finnish Viola Society, has published a book. It consist of Teemu's diaries during his travels around the world as a street musician, playing only Bach.

CVS XXXth Anniversary- Canadian viola celebration

This celebration was held in Montreal, October 9-11, 2009.

It was a weekend of recitals, workshops, master classes and for the first time in the 30 year history of the Canadian Viola Society, awards were presented. "Lifetime Achievement Awards" were presented to ten people who have made outstanding contributions to the viola in Canada or to the Canadian Viola Society. The award consists of a certificate, spoken tributes from colleagues and relatives, listing on the CVS web site Honour Roll and, for those who are still living, a silver pin.
